half-marathon training day one

Yes, it is true. It's been a week since I have blogged but I have good news. I am hoping to run a half marathon in April!
Last year I ran a triathlon.
While, this could all change in a few minutes (because I have not bought the ticket yet). I started my training today! While it was only three miles. It was a little rough because it has been a while since I have consistently ran. I just wanted to tell you though how great it felt! I felt amazing afterword.

And no this is not my New Year's resolution. I just thought why not?! Ha.

dinner...as promised...

Disclaimer: If you ever wonder why I have not been posting a lot or long post. Well I have been sewing nonstop. I have been loving my new serger and new vintage fabric finds. (insert heart emoji here)

As promised though, I did cook dinner and have somewhat of a recipe for you. Last night's dinner was not as fab as I would have hoped it would be but I made something new! I was inspired by a Pinterest pin to make cheesy vegetables. Doesn't sound too appealing but it was delicious (not to mention I am a fan of all things cheese). We also had well, canned soup.  Nothing much homemade about that but it was a laid back kind of night.  So here are some pictures and a little simple reciepe.

Cheesy Vegetables:

For this you can have about any kind of vegetables, put them in a pan together and add some shredded cheese.

I used green beans, peas, and corn. I wanted to add some peppers but we did not have any.

Christmas cheer

There are two weeks till Christmas! That means Christmas cheer everywhere! We went to Christmas town at Busch Gardens this past weekend and it was a lot of fun. Everything from hot cocoa to a skyride over lights. I still need to bake my annual sugar cookies. Yum.

Tomorrow hopefully I will be posting a dinner recipe so stay tuned.

I can finally say the word "Christmas"

Now that it is after Thanksgiving, that means Christmas season! The most wonderful time of the year. So as tradition, we put up our Christmas decorations out and I took my camera and snapped a few shots.

We even got a real tree, it smells pretty amazing in our house now. Christmas time is probably my favorite time of the year as you can tell. :)

It is Friday, wohoo! I went thrift shopping today and it was so much fun! My friend Olivia and I had so much fun. Such great deals at the thrift shop.

Recently I have sewing a few new things, and they are so cute.

I have also been running more (in very cold weather I might add).

I am just happy it is the weekend.

how to make // arm strap phone case

Guess what... I finally did a video (reason why there was no post yesterday)! While it is not the best nor is it a Q&A I still think it turned out alright. I was not comfortable enough to do a Q&A but thought a sewing tutorial would be perfect! So I have made a arm strap phone case. I will say I got some inspiration for how the video was filmed from (www.lemontierres.com). She is pretty great, I will say. Go check her out.

holiday favorites.

I have been loving a few things around my house that have to do with the holidays more than usual this time of year.

1// Candles are not really my thing but I have been loving this candle warmer I received from my sister. I am always afraid that something will catch on fire and this assures it will not! Get one here.

2// socks + heater // While I am always a fan of the heater not so much the socks but it has changed and I love socks so very much now. Especially fuzzy, Christmas colored socks.

3// hot cocoa // Most of the time I put down hot cocoa but when you get a hug box of it at the store, well it is tempting.

4// target and Christmas deco. Yes. Yes. Yes.

a few crafting tips

Thought I would share a DIY post since I have not in awhile. I have been crafting lately and have made a few awesome things and thought I would share some tips for you all crafters out there.

1. Have a dedicated space.
I often find a big table works great, lay down some newspaper and you are ready to go.

2. Keep it organized.
All my craft supplies is organized in two little 3 drawer plastic containers. I bought even smaller containers to put inside of it and it works out great.

3. Buy a few new things.
Wow, I just told you to go out and buy more things. Yes, buy a few more things to make something new but combining with your old supplies as well.

4. Find inspiration.
I am a creative person but often times I see something and it sparks an idea. Pinterest is very helpful for this.

It has been quite the week this week. Filled with new and exciting things. It has been a full but great week. I have been much enjoying my sewing machines and thrift shopping skills.  Though it has been quite hectic. I have done everything from homework to learning how to work my serger (woo hoo)! Yay! It is almost Friday and I am so excited, especially for some Donuts. Yes. That is it for now. xox

thrift store finds (and websites)

    We have this really good thrift store in my town and I love it. Love. It. Just in the past month I have found J.Crew to Chacos for under $3. I have also found this great website called thread up. They have many name brand clothes for really cheap prices. I just ordered an L.L. Bean vest from there for $5 (I had a 10 dollar store credit). I am super excited to get it. In the past month my thrift store finds have consisted of, Target shorts (that fit perfect), Levi Jeans (for .67 cents best. deal. ever.), and some Gap items. It is wonderful. Just thought I would share a few pictures and websites.
