pinterest faves.

     I have been falling behind on blog posts, so I just pulled together a few of my most recent favoirte Pinterest pins. I hope to do #3 this weekend in my spare time between painting my sisters room and watching Drop Dead Diva. :) I will defintly tell you my end result. The new trend of reusing books/music sheets for pretty banners, I am really liking. It so simple and every sheet/page tells a story (maybe even literally; ha). The quote (#1) I plan to print out and put up in my room. The quote is so perfect for me because I often have a hard time "living in the moment". Now number three I was really upset when I clicked through and found out it was only $26 but it was out of stock in my size, of course. Maybe, I will just have to find a different dress on "CiChic".There is not much to tell about number four except that I just love it. It is so unique with the lights in the background and the bicycle in the front. That is it for this lovely Friday, enjoy.

    Dress up for no reason. Just do it. This is what I did. I feel so sophisticated when I dress up. Makes me feel confident. That is one thing I love about fashion; is that you can pick clothes that make you confident. You want to be able to look yourself in the mirror and say "Dang. I look good." Its a good feeling. Trust me. This outfit was probably a little more $$ than I normally pay for things but it was worth it. Hope you have a lovely day.

    Modesty is a dreaded subject for most people, but it doesn't have to be. So, here is my point of view and just a few tips.

    Most of us all have trouble sometimes when it comes to dressing, because we want to be noticed or fit in. Then, we show off a little skin in hope for a little attention or acceptance. But honestly this is very bad. The issue is no longer how you dress, but why. What you might not realize is that how valuable you are and that you don't ever have to show off your body or get someones approval to feel you are worth something. YOU ARE VALUABLE. Now keep saying that over and over, write it on your mirror. YOU ARE VALUABLE. YOU ARE VALUABLE. You are a priceless and beautiful. Matthew 10:31 "So do not be afraid you are worth more than sparrows."

So the question now is, why should we dress modest? Why? Let me tell you why.

Number 1- You are valuable and you need to respect your body. If your shorts are too tight and you have a really low-cut shirt, do you think that people are looking at you and saying, "wow, it is nice to see a modest fashionable young women" or are they saying "for christmas santa is getting you some real clothes". Honestly which do you want to be?

Number 2- You will feel more confident walking into work or school, knowing that you're not cutting it close to the dress code. You will be RESPECTED. You don't have to worry about pulling your skirt down every single second or pulling your shirt up. People will see beyond your body and they will notice the inside.



Number 3- In the long run you will be so thankful you dressed modestly. This one is a little hard to explain but 20 years from now do you want to look back and have bad memories about being the girl who was dying for attention or do you want to be the confident young lady who had a bright future ahead of her?  Some of you may think that it is silly, but dressing your body modestly could bring the best people into your life or even your dream job.

Now for 2 tips to live by on dressing modestly. 

Number 1- the B rule. Your breast or butt should not be clearly visible. Don't wear shorts that barely cover your butt or a shirt that is very low cut.

Number 2- If you are debating whether to wear (xyz) or not, DON'T WEAR IT. Inside you know you shouldn't be wearing it, so don't. If you have trouble with this, get rid of the piece of clothing that you question.

How to Thrift Store Shop and Clearance Rack Shop

    I will admit. I shop at thrift stores and I used to hate it. But let's admit it, do we all have $30 to spend on one shirt? Nope. So today I would like to share a few tips.
UPDATE:

Clearance Rack Shopping- 

1. Ask yourself if you were paying full price, would you buy it? Everyone in a while its okay to just buy things because its $3. But honestly ask yourself this every time.

2. Have a price limit.

3. If you see a good piece of clothing, that you know will last a while. Go ahead and buy it FULL PRICE. Don't be afraid, but be mindful. Remember first impressions are important. Always look classy.

Thrift Store Shopping-

1. Find a good clean thrift shop. I found one near where I live. It's very nice. This makes your shopping trip more enjoyable. Also Platos Closet is an amazing consignment shop, those are great too! Below is a picture.

2. This is a biggie. Know what your looking for. The thrift store has so much junk but also some great stuff. I have found sweater from, J.Crew, Old Navy, The Loft, and even New York & Company! If you found a Pinterest Project and you need a white shirt, Thrift Store. So this way if it ends up being a PINTERST FAIL. No big deal. :)

3. Buy things that can be paired with many things. It's okay to have shirts that make there own statement, but it's great to have different colored cardgains and scarves.   But also it's so cheap normally that this doesn't always apply.

4. Have fun and Be Creative. If you go into any store with a two-year old I don't want to do this attitude, it's gonna be dreadful. Just have fun!
