recently

Since I forgot Friday's post, here it is....

Just a few little things I have been loving recently.

Now that I am not at school 8 hours a day I actually have more time to make healthy a breakfast and lunch. One breakfast I have been loving recently is strawberries, toast, and yogurt with granola. This summer I have actually been having breakfasts that keep me full, it has been great!

Once again, I have more free time and that means more babysitting. One of favorite ways to spend free time. You see that little cutie putting dishes away for me. Yep. It was 9 o'clock and I figured, if you are not going to go to bed well you are going to help me with the dishes, and she did and it was great. Ha. And the little girl below her well she is just drinking her milk from her cereal. Nothing much to tell there.

Summer has also enabled me to go surfing more too, yay! The waves are a hit and miss but hey when you get some waves it is a blast.

The other day I made homemade iced mint tea. Yum (hence the picture of the mint plant).

Now that it is summer, I have been able to have a much more flexible schedule and have been able to do a lot more things. Something that I have been doing recently is jogging to the river with me little doggy. Lets just say she is worn out my the time we are finished jogging. She pants the whole time while jogging with me and when we get home she just lays next to the food and water. Ha.

That is what has been going on recently around here; thanks for reading. xoxo.

my week in review

My week was full of up's and down's, happy and sad moments, and one "see ya later" moment. But, for the most part it was pretty good. Let's just say it all started off when I got my J.Crew shorts in the mail. YES. Normally I don't buy J.Crew clothes because they can get pricey but hey, they were on clearance (I had a promo code too) and I needed new shorts. So cute.
So cuteeee.
On with that, I can't hold this in, I GOT 150 FOLLOWERS on bloglovin! This is a big step for me as a blogger! As I am writing this post I can barley hold it in. I can't even deal. You should have seen the happy dance I did and I can't stop smiling. Oh my goodness. AHH.

Now that your done listening to me rant about how happy I am....

This week/weekend was filled with food + friends & family. Many pictures, laughter, food, selfies, and well most of all, fun. I cannot say enough about my friends and the adventures we have. It is really priceless. I love them.

Group photos are the bomb dignity.
I would have to say of the favorite things we love to do together would be eat, hey it is essential to your body so why not make it yummy? We were very cultured with our meals this week. We had Mexican, Japanese (sushi) and American (ice cream and a cookout) food.  All so yummy.
I love me some food.
Oh yeah..and well food. I went to target and bought a whole bunch of yummy healthy food, and other good all natural stuff. It all looks so pretty and taste so yummy. One of the biggest deals I found at Target was a dress marked down to $2.88 because it was an online item. It is the best when that happens. It also was the same with my jean dress.

YUM.

Thanks for reading. xoxo

photography // evening with us

As spring starts and summer approached our family likes to enjoy the sunshine and outdoors. So, that is what we did a few weekends ago. We had a fire (which I started myself, thank you), hotdogs, smores, and homemade salsa with chips. Yum. I am getting hungry right now thinking about it. But what is that suppose to mean, I am always hungry. Ha. I have to admit that you could bribe me with food. Back on topic, afterwards we enjoyed some soccer, bocce ball, and the the hammock. Of course I took pictures of this lovely evening and I would like to share them with you. Enjoy.

The fire which I started myself after my sister and I attempted everything from vegetable oil and Doritos, nothing worked, but I kept trying and before you knew it looked something like this. First fire ever built by Moriah.

Food, yes. Yum. Homemade salsa was the bomb, so were the hotdogs, and the smores, and well everything. Nom. Nom.

What does your family do as summer/spring approaches? xoxo lovelies.

diy pocket tee

Today, I would like to announce I will be starting a DIY summer series and this blog post is part one of six. This summer series will have anything form seashell bracelets to a pretty pocket tee. Through this series I hope to attract more readers and grow as a blog. The tutorial I will be showing you today is how to make a simple pocket tee. I have gotten a lot of compliments on this shirt so I thought I would make a tutorial. If you are a beginner sewer or beginner DIYer, then this is for you or even if you have sewn or DIYed for years, this is for you too! The tutorial is pretty simple it only has a few steps.

Supplies:
-solid color tee (something like this)
-fabric (fat quarter)
-scissors
-sewing machine
-pocket pattern

1. Gather materials (make sure to wash your tee and fabric).

2. Cut out pattern (here).

3. Pin on fabric and cut out (two prices).

4. Put right sides together.

5. Sew all sides but leave a small opening at the top (like below).

6. Turn back inside out.

7. Fold over your opening and sew down the top.

8. Pin on your shirt and sew down (make sure you only sew on the front of your shirt not back).

Tadaa, you have made your first pocket tee!

How to wear it:

This tee is great  with some shorts, jeans, a skirt, just about anything. The great part is it gives your old tee some new life!

Enjoy and have a lovely day. xo
If you liked this post, it would mean the world if you went and subscribed to my email listing (you would make my day).

summer fun

You know it is the south when a few months ago it was snowing 2 feet and now it is 90 degrees outside. Like, what? I am not complaining though, I love the summer. The sand, the water, the salt, the breeze....ahhh. Summer is probably my favorite season of them all. So, in honor of the hot weather I put together a pretty picture with a few things I pan on doing this summer. If you would like to print this picture out click here.

1. Wear sunscreen- My mama always tells me to do it, so I just do it, not wearing sunscreen won't make ya any tanner, just burnt.
2. HYDRATE- If I am gonna be soaking up that sun I need to hydrate.
3. Modest is hottest- seriously though, there are some pretty cute tankinis and one pieces out there. I might do a post about it in the future, just hang tight.
4. Collect shells- I always enjoy collecting shells because there are so many things you can do with them.
5. Laugh- Like if you mess up just laugh about it, no big deal.
6. All-nighter- Since I am a teenager this is a must, ha. Completely off topic but this summer I really want to go night swimming more this summer.
7. Get in the H20- be a little braver and just do it. Gotta cool off somehow, right?
8. Be a little braver- just get in the water, just have a little more faith.
9. Soak up the sun- enjoy the peaceful moments.
10. Fun- have some fun, don't sit inside all day, go out!

summer wishlist

Notice I say "wishlist" the likely hood of me actually getting two or more of the these items is slim to none. Seriously. Most of these are way over my budget. Ha. But it is fun to look at pretty things I can't afford. Especially #1 and #2, oh snap and of course they are my favorite items. It always works like that doesn't it? :) Anyway, this wonderful picture just consist of a few things I found on the worldwide web that I adore. What is on your summer wishlist?
