morning with me

"the view"

my little illy dog

going outside close to when I wake up is really helpful

Weekend mornings look something like this. Bright, sunny, and colorful. I love waking up to the sunshine.  Ahh...

A few things that make my mornings better are: sunshine, no technology, smoothies, my dog, and a comfy & pretty bed. Sounds odd but the number one thing I love about weekend mornings are no technology. I just lay there and think and watch the sun peak through my room. I highly encourage it, starts my day off a lot better.

Mornings can either be my favorite or least favorite part of the day. What about you?

Almost the weekend again, hope you had a great Thursday.

P.S. I went to Target again today.

target adventures

If you know anything about me you know I love Target. Sadly it is 40 minutes away, so when we go it is an event, hah. No matter where you live Target is an event. It makes me so happy when I go there. Something new every time, clearance ends are my favorite. But, Target already has the Christmas things out. Which I don't know why I am surprised, most stores do it the moment Back to School ends. Anyway, enough Target talk and here are some pictures.

it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..

so cute..
oh..such cool little finds..
endless things...

a long nature walk.

We don't have much nature here but corn but there is this nice somewhat trail walk in our neighborhood. It is quite nice to go on. This time we took even longer and enjoyed the walk and explored nature. Of course, I took snapshots and lots of them I might add. Here they are....

here we go! with a little doggie too!

an updated sewing room tour

I love changing up my sewing room and recently, I did! I switched a few things around to make it simpler. Here is what it looked like before or even before that.

First off, I now keep my fabric in the blue box pictured below. Before it was just displayed but there was too much of a color clash. It is just an old cardboard box covered in some paper from Micheal's. It contrast great with the brown colors. I also now keep my ribbon in a coconut bowl (made from a real coconut, my mom got in Africa) and have fewer pictures hanging.

Changing up my sewing area and getting new fabrics always gives me more inspiration. What does your sewing/craft area look like?

that round shaped bowl is a coconut!

my review on using all natural hair/body products

Awhile ago I blogged about my beauty products I used and said I was going to try out homemade conditioner and shampoo. I did and it wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best for my hair.

I changed my normal routine and went shampoo free and just used homemade conditioner.  I would use my body soap a few times a week to wash my hair but for the most part I used conditioner. The conditioner recipe I used was 8 parts vinegar and 1 part water. I did this for about one month and was bad but, my hair gets oily really quick and this just made it worse.

One day I ran out of my homemade conditioner and just used my old one again and the next morning my hair was so soft. It was amazing.

While I am trying harder to get more store bought natural products for right now I will go back to using my Suave Naturals instead of my homemade products. I am so sad to say this because I wanted to use more natural products but for now this will have to do. I am sure I will find a better product in the future. Right now, it is not worth it to me to have oily hair just to have my hair products all natural.

On the other hand thought I was successful with my new all natural soap and face wash. I now use Kirk's Castle Soap for my body and homemade coconut oil face wash. These were both a great success!  This is the recipe I used for my homemade coconut oil face wash, I keep it in a mason jar that it works perfect. I added a few drops of essential oil and wa laa!

Thanks for reading, have a happy weekend. xoxo

sewing recently

I have been sewing a few new things recently and thought I would share. I love making kids clothes and would love to sell some. But haven't really found a very efficient way. I am trying a few different options but have not gotten a whole lot of feedback. Let me know if any of you know a good way! Anyway, I made my first romper this week and love how it turned out. The great thing was it only cost me a few bucks. The pants I made from a pattern but the top I made my own pattern. I will say it took a while to make but was worth it for the most part. I also made a while ago two bloomers which are super cute and took less than 30 minutes. Sewing can either be very frustrating or very rewarding. Thanks for reading xox.

my favorite bloomers ever. so cute.

It is Friday, yay! That means staying up late and waking up late....ahhh.

A few new happenings going on this week. First off, my family got a Ninja blender and I just made Apple Juice out of real apples! I am freaking out! It works so great.

Also, Taylor Swift came out with a new song "Out of the Woods". While I am not a big Taylor Swift fan, her songs never disappoint. But her music videos are questionable sometimes. I will admit I am listening to the new song right now.

I have also been thinking about doing a video if you saw in yesterday's post. I am still unsure. But, if I do is there anything you want to know about me? If so comment below.

Also have created a new craft below. More of just decorating my mason jar but more to come soon.

Sorry for not many pictures. My computer is having difficulties.

a video?

I would like your thought on the idea of making a video. I am not sure what to do it on or if I will even do it but it is up in the air. What do you think? Maybe a Q&A or DIY.  Who knows! Just wondering if you guys would even enjoy that?

college dreaming....

I am dreaming of an awesome college dorm room...fa la la la....

I have been obsessed with college dorm room pins on Pinterest and they make me very inspired to do my room! There are so many different options and I love them all. I really like the idea of a vintage inspired room with a bohemian touch. Oh so pretty.  Half of these pictures are probably not normal looking dorm rooms but man they are amazing. They all tell a different story is what I love.

Here are a few I like...

Since I have a high metabolism honestly, I could probably get away with not exercising. But, I know that in order to stay healthy I need too. There are also endless benefits to it. While exercising is not my favorite thing to do I do enjoy a quick jog every once in a while (oh yeah, and did I mention I might be doing a big run in the spring...shhhh).

 1// twice a week I swim (2 1/2 hours total)
2// once or twice a week I run (30 min)
3// I do a few stretches every morning to wake up (5< min)

I feel so much better after I exercise and makes my attitude a lot better. I try to keep this routine going so I am consistent. But I have been all over the place these past few weeks. I am trying to figure out how many hours you are suppose to get of exercise a day, but it is an endless mystery. This is not the best I have every done (I use to run everyday and will be soon), but I like to change things up to keep me interested. What do you do to exercise?

I just wanted to share with you what I do to keep in shape. xo

watercolor states.

I have seen people paint there home states all over Pinterest and I thought I would make my own. It was pretty simple I just traced over the states I wanted and then painted them. I then marked the towns I felt were most important to me. I was planning on framing them but decided to just hang them up, they look great and are a nice way to remind me of my home states.
