leather bag + much more

Disclaimer: I used pleather not real leather, they did not have it in the store I bought this in.

If you saw my little shopping spree in this post you might know I bought some fabric and today I would like to share with you what I have made. By far, this is one of the best things I have made! I love how it turned out and I made a matching phone case, zipper pouch, wallet, lunch bag, and key holder (not pictured). It is a great purse because it has lots of room and super easy to get to things. If you would like a tutorial for any of it well, I don't have one except the wallet (I cannot seem to find the pattern), the rest I used my good old brain to sew. I hope you enjoy, xoox.

what?!? you have a blog and you don't use any social media?

You got that right! Too much time, drama, and there are many other ways to promote your blog without it. Yeah, it's free advertising but hey it leads to other things that are not neccessary. Anyway, all to say....I have completed my "gram-less" summer. For those of you who don't know what I am talking about go check it out here. I loved! Loved loved loved it! Not only did I take away Instagram but I eventually took away almost all social media. It all started off with one week of no social media  in December and man, did it lead to something so much better. So  much more fulfilling. I occasionaly go on Facebook but that is about it (only to check messages). Other than that I have not been on Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, etc in a while. Let me just say I did not realize how drama-free my life was without them! I am so grateful I was able to do this. My life is so much more simpler.

he skinned his knee in the process of this, hah.

The super important things that happen on social media or whatever, I hear about. I mean I have a whole entire family that still uses social media. It is not a big deal for me. I am a very social person, so I thought for sure I would not like this, but I love it!

When I was asked by one of my lovely friends if I was back on social media and I said no. I realized I didn't even miss it. Yesterday, was the end of summer and so that meant I could go on Instagram again and I completely forgot until my friend asked me about it. Honestly, it was great. I thought I would miss it for sure but no, not at all, really.

I plan to continue this with occasionally check social media but wow, if you don't want to dive all in I suggest you take a week off. Trust me, you can do it. If there is one thing I advise it would be this. It only started with one week about a year ago. It lead to something way bigger. I LOVE a social-media free life.

What do you think about a social media free life?

xoxo lovelies.

surfboard coverup

I purchased a surfboard recently and wanted to make a cover for it, so I did! I used some IKEA fabric. It is almost like home decor fabric. To make this cover, I just set out the fabric and cut it out leaving room on every side for seam allowance. The bottom is a drawstring but I still need to add some drawstring, haha. I just have the loop now. This was super simple to make and i love how it turned out! Last thing for today, what do you think about me blogging everyday? I am thinking about doing it just for one month and seeing how it goes..hmmm.. :)

lately

As I type this I am inside a hotel in the...how I love the city. I live in the country, so it is a big deal if I can walk to Target! I think that in the future my preference would be to live in the city near a beach. Ha. I quite like it. While being in the city for a few days, I have came across things I am very fond of and I thought I would share.

just a few finds from this past week

1 // anthropologie
There is no Anthropologie store near where I live and there is one in walking distance here. I went there. It. was. like. heaven. I could not stop ohhing and ahhhing. I had to buy something, so I think I bought the cheapest thing there a cute little vintage doorknob. I have yet to figure out what I am going to do with it but I love it.

2 //kashi pizza
I went to Harris Teeter the other day and we walked down the frozen food aile and they had Kashi pizza and Kashi frozen meals! Say what? Even though neither of these are entirerly healthy, if you need something on the go and it a little bit more wholesome. Bam, there ya have it.

3 // fancy restaurants
Recently, I went to a very nice restaurant for my birthday with my Grandma. It was on the 21st floor, everyone was in suits, and there was a dress code. Also, did I mention the food was amazing. Here is a snap from that.

yay for fancy places!

4// blog every day
Do you think I could blog everyday? I feel like I might run out of ideas, what do you think? I need some inspiration. I really need your help! What do you think?

Thanks for reading. xoxo. Big shout out to my mom, it is her birthday today and she has supported me every step of the way through blogging. xoxo Mom!  Check out her website here.

wallet tutuorial

When I don't feel like spending money on something, I make it! That is what I did with this wallet. Often times I make things and they don't turn out perfect, so I trash it. Hence the reason I don't make a lot of things for me. But after two tries I got it right! I love how it turned out. So simple, unique, and clean. The only thing I would change, might be to put interfacing in it if you are using cotton fabric. The tutorial called for duck fabric, but just about any fabric will do. This tutorial is super easy, Even if you are just getting into sewing or have been sewing for years. It is pretty customizable, you could add straps, Velcro. make more card holders, whatever you feel like!

on being grateful

Last Saturday was my birthday and I came to realize a few things. One, I like to be the center of everything on my birthday. Which is not acceptable for any day. It is okay to be the center of attention on some things but, I wanted too much. It was so easy for me to get caught up in "It's my birthday. I should get what I want." All this to say it made me realize that I should stop and look around and see how blessed I am. To think that I was able to get presents, have a nice breakfast, lunch, and dinner, go tubing, spend time with my family, and get many birthday wishes is more than many people will ever have.

During this time,  I was just looking around observing life and I came to realize that I am so l blessed. It just amazes me sometimes how much I take for granted. I mean, I have to sleep on the floor and I am a little sad. All these things on earth are not eternal I need to stop saying I "need this, need that" but more of what can I do wisely with this money.

What my point is that I need to be more grateful for what I have.

As you can tell by the title I just wanted to share with you how I exercise.  Usually I do something everyday, it gives me a boost of energy and makes me feel better. finding inspiration

I have been a little absent the past two weeks and have not been blogging. Life happens and you lose track of time. No, really I will tell you what happen....
I normally schedule my blog post for every month and so all I do have to do the day of the post is publicize it (twitter, facebook, etc.). Well July came around and I hadn't done that. So I figured why not just do it the night before (says the girl who never procrastinates). Long story short, that didn't work. At all.
So here I am posting and scheduling. I think finding more inspiration will help me get back into the swing of things. I was just looking around on bloglovin' and I saw so many cute blogs and was like "I want to do that, oh wait I do". Ha. I also saw another blogger used a notebook to keep all her blog planning in. So I think I am gonna pick up a pretty notebook at Target this week.
Anyway, not too much new has happened (except my room, eep!). We had family in this past week so I didn't get too much time to post (which is alright!) and I just lost track of time. I have also been working on a big project I cannot wait to share with you! Stay tuned everyone. Thanks for reading my blog even when I only post twice in two weeks. xoxo lovelies.
